Capture a product

Three passes, each doing only its own work. Barcode and panel fill in what the product is; reference photos are what the cabinet recognises it by later.

Turn the barrel until FOCUS stops climbing. On a lens with a motor, this finds the sharpest setting and pins it there.
    Show the barcode and press Barcode. Then the back of the pack for Nutrition panel. Then the front, and press Reference photo six to eight times, turning the pack a little between each.

    For a pack no database knows and no photograph will read. Enter the figures exactly as printed, per 100 ml for a drink or per 100 g for a snack. Fields marked * are required: sugar and calories are the two heaviest factors in the score and the size is what they are scaled by, so a score without them would be wrong rather than merely cautious.
    Optional. The product name below is what is printed on the pack; this is what the customer screen prints instead, if the two should differ.
    Shown in quotes on the pickup card. Leave it empty and the card falls back to the category’s tagline, which is true of eight other products.
